Alli, Jenna, and Adam, long-time friends and industry colleagues, became business partners when they formed Scorched Earth Hospitality, LLC in December 2022, united by a shared vision of establishing a safe haven for local service industry veterans, ensuring they receive a living wage while allowing opportunities for creativity and personal growth. With first-hand understanding of the challenges faced in service-related jobs, they sought to promote respect, dignity, and a positive work-life balance, fostering a supportive atmosphere for all employees.

From this foundation they knew a warm and welcoming space for their community would grow. Their goal was to develop an environment where neighbors, friends, and families could gather in good company around great food, made from scratch with fresh, quality ingredients.

Alli hails from Worcester, Massachusetts and now lives with her husband in Portland; Jenna & Adam grew up in Westbrook and Portland and now live with their daughter in Westbrook. They each got their start in the hospitality industry while in high school in the early 2000’s and have been bringing amazing food and impeccable service to guests in all types of dining establishments ever since.

They purchased Owl & Elm together in April of 2023 and went straight to work bringing their dreams to life. You’ll find them working in the restaurant alongside their core group of staff every day in the dining room, kitchen, and office. Don’t be afraid to say hello!
